HI THERE!
I'm Alexandra, a woman on a journey of written expression. Writing has always been something that I love doing. It takes me to another place, similar to the feeling of when I'm enveloped in a great book; except I get to eternalise what is in my own head on paper.
My writing education has evolved from a story about a stylish black and white cow - written when my mum and I were on a road trip up the coast of NSW - to a sequence of ideas and stories centred on observations of the world around me. Making words beautiful is one of the things I pride myself on, using powerful imagery to transport my readers to another place.
By rekindling my love of writing through a Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing, after a brief detour into the childcare industry, I have learnt to adapt my writing to various forms of media. This is demonstrated in my work for the Property Investory podcast, where I edited transcripts, wrote catchy narrations and compiled information to create case studies of successful investors. I also collaborated with the team to create a 'go-to guide' on how to budget for an investment property in 2018 and have also written press releases to further expand the brand. By the end of my time at Property Investory, listenership had increased to 90,000+.
I also spent some time at Aventedge as a Conference Content Producer, where I developed a keener eye for what people are interested in (myself included) and discovered that to write well, I must first write for myself. Now I am taking my sweet time to do this while working on a novel and finding my bliss through the cathartic nature of the written word, with the help of the Australian Writers' Centre.
Here I intend to share my work with you, whether published or unpublished, to establish myself as a professional writer.
